In this section, we discuss the rise of the Black Press, give biographies of the most famous black writers, and show prevalent examples in the last twenty years of instances relating to racial issue discussions. The Black Press and present day examples will give key insight into the history of racial relations and how print media has affected the history of the United States along with how such issues still exist today. The biographic page will showcase Frederick Douglass, Ida B. Wells, and Robert Abbott who were key in the growth of black newspapers in the 19th and 20th centuries.
